 Folklore:-

As a crow takes to flight, make a wish, if the crow does not flap its wings before its out of sight, your wish will come true.

A crows near the house is considered to be unlucky

 

 LADYBUGS,

 if a ladybug lands on a single person watch where it flies as there true love shall arrive from that direction.

If a ladybug lands on you and you count to 22 before it flies away then luck will be yours.

Your house is on fire,
Your children all roam.

 

Butterflies,

On any given day if you see a white butterfly first then luck shall truely be yours

 Flowers:-

Marigold-    It is said to be a great aphrodisiac,

It is also sometimes used for wedding bouquets for it represents fidelity and the long endurance of love.

Still there is another superstition that claims the yellow marigold wards off witchcraft

 

If a girl picks a bunch of flowers, especially daisies, with her eyes closed, the number of flowers indicate how many years until her marriage.

Daffodil- It is usually considered a lucky flower. Over in Wales, the first person of the year who finds a daffodil will enjoy prosperity throughout the year. However, if the daffodil that is found, is hanging its head, that person is to suffer an ill fated year.

Poppy-In the ancient world, farmers claimed their corn would not grow unless there was poppies in it. Now the poppy is a symbol of remembrance.

Rose- In the ancient times of the Romans they planted roses by the graveside to protect the dead from evil.

Red roses have been planted on graves of lovers 

White roses on graves of virgins.

Superstition has it that if a rose drops its petals, while someone is holding it, that person will soon pass away.

 

BIRTH

Monday's child is fair of face;

If you make a wish while throwing a coin into a well or fountain, the wish will come true.

Certain days of the week, and certain months of the year are better than others for a wedding.

When February birds do mate, You wed nor dread your fate.

Magpie's :-

Magpies being the object of many superstition. There are many folk stories involving the magpie; it is thought to be associated with the devil in many parts of the country, and crossing oneself upon seeing one or saluting lone magpies is a practice that continues to this day in some areas. The magpie rhyme varies greatly, but usually begins: one for sorrow, two for joy. It is believed that the magpie refused to mourn Christ at the crucifixion, it is also said that the magpie refused to enter Noah's ark, instead sitting on the roof and swearing for the duration of the deluge

It is considered unlucky to have real flowers on stage or to give an actress flowers before a show. Use artificial flowers on the set and wait until after a performance to give flowers to a performer

 

If you pick a dandelion that's gone to seed and blow at it once really hard, the number of seeds still on the stem will be the number of children you'll have.
